Hot Italian Sausage Dip

This hot and cheesy dip is going to be a big hit at your next gathering. We combined cream cheese, mozzarella, parmesan, Italian sausage, and tomatoes, using our Big Sur Gourmet Italian Seasoning as the chief flavoring component. That blend of dried garlic, dried onion flakes, basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, fennel seeds, and a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes is perfect for recipes like this one…delicious!


Serves 6 to 8 


Ingredients: 


8 ounces raw ground Italian sausage 

1 can diced tomatoes, drained 

1 package cream cheese, softened 

3 cups mozzarella cheese, grated 

1 cup parmesan cheese, grated 


Italian bread, crostini, and crackers, for dipping 


Instructions 

Preheat the oven to 425°F. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the sausage, and cook until brown, about 6 minutes. Remove from the heat and transfer the cooked sausage to a large bowl. Add the diced tomatoes, cream cheese, mozzarella, parmesan, and seasoning to the bowl, and stir to combine. Transfer the dip to a casserole dish or oven-proof skillet and bake for 20 minutes or until bubbly and brown. Remove from the oven and set aside to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
