Classic Hummus

Serves 4-6


1 1/2 cups cooked chickpeas

1 garlic clove, peeled

1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth

1/4 cup tahini

2 tablespoons Gil’s California Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

San Fran Sea Salt to taste


Sesame seeds

Gil’s California Extra Virgin Olive Oil for drizzling

Cooked Chickpeas


Toasted pita or naan bread for dipping


Place chickpeas, garlic, broth, tahini, olive oil, and lemon juice in a food processor, pulse until smooth. If your hummus is thick, add a tablespoon or two of chicken or vegetable broth until desired consistency is reached. Season to taste with salt and garnish with sesame seeds, olive oil, chickpeas, and paprika.
